What is osteoporosis?
Osteoporosis is a disease that thins and weakens bones to the point where they may break easily. This disease most often causes fractures of the bones of the hip, spine, and wrist.Malabsorption is a universal problem in IC patients. Our digestive systems are not in a fit state to digest or absorb food well. As a result we develop multiple nutritional deficiencies. The brain and immune system cannot function properly without adequate nutrition. As a result of nutritional deficiencies, these patients are at risk of develop osteoporosis.
When eating a nutrient dense diet, patients bones start getting heavier, the bone structure being rebuilding.
